The Blnirite, or Independent Opposition, were wiped out, and Labor, at their expense ehicfly, I gained Qvc Beats. The Premier, M". ' Kidston, who headed the poll at law '■ election had to be content with second I place, while Mr. Pliilp, at T'owimvll'.., jhad a jrrcat struggle for second place, Labor heading the poll.
MINISTERIAL PARTY'S SUCCESS.

I Though many of the returns nro still incomplete anil some may be altered. the latest returns slow the position to be as follows: Ministerialists .. ..40 Labor 2 * Independent .. •• * Mr. Jackson, Minister for Mines, lost his Kennedy seat to O'Sullivan (Labor). All the other Ministers are either returned or arc considered Siife.
Mr. Pliilp, at Townsvillc, squeezed in h-lween two Luboritw. Mr. Peter Airey, an ex-Minister, who loured it-f mi Independent, was defeated for South Brisbane.
