By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is Rev. D. C. Bates' report and forecast: —The "weather Has been cloudy and showery in most parts of the country. Moderate to strong northerly winds prevailed everywhere until about midnight, when they veered in the South ' Island to the south-west and with electrical disturbances. The barometer has risen slowly over the South Island *ince midnight, but has continued to fall in the Xorth Island. The present indications, however, are* for nn increase in pressure shortly in tbo North and another fall in the South, which will probably soon steepen the barometric gradients and cause strong westerly winds' and changeable weather, more bracing than lately experience.
