WHANGAMAMONA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Whangamomona County Council to.ik place on Friday last, when there were present: Councillors W. A. MeCulclnn (.in the chair), E. B. Roberton, J. M Jones, R. MeChtggage, A. Meredith, and J, Anderson. It was resolved to notify Mr. Franks that consent to the erection of a gate on Arnold road would be withdrawn until he complied with. tile requirements of the Public Works Act. The engineer's report was read and adopted. It was decided to inform Mr. Ireland of the tenor of the Resident Road Engineer's letter concerning Brewer road deviation, and that he would be advisml further when a survey had been made.

McCutchan and Meredith the following resolution was carried:—That the good offices of the member for the district be requested in furtherance of the objects of the following resolution, which he is asked to submit for the consideration of the Minister fur Vulilir- Works:—That this Council respectfully directs the attention of the Minister for Public Works to the difficulties and extra cost under which hightailing and other development work in connection with laud
