UNITED SERVICE CLUB. The annual meeting of the above clul „., Lld in the Council Chambers Us •!*(■ at which there were present Mmms Southall (chairman), Preshav Sv Matthews, Wood,. Mclsaa, Lawry, Napier, Duiniss and Wiggs. The annual report was presented as follows: —"Your committee has mucl nleasure in presenting this the first an S r 'port of the club, and have tj congratulate the members upon a mosl •uccessful season. We cone uded th season with a small credit balance, an., in addition have material in hand worth about £l2, so the financial position may be considered good for a young cluu Two teams were entered for the batirday competition, the "B" team gaming B MOnd place after a close finish with t.ie wTnnera, the New Plymouth CluV Fifteen matches were played in the competition, the "B" team winning 10, a-jd the »A" team 7. Owing to transfer--, etc. the clnb has lost several of last veal's members, but the addition of several new members will help to make up for that loss. The thanks of the club are due to Mr. Southall (club capta.n) and Mr. Mackay (captain of the "A" team), both of whom worked hard for the success of their teams and the club in general. Two members of the club wi>re chosen to represent the province in iikterprovincial matches, namely, Mess's ■outhall and Mackay The committee trusts that members will attend practices more regularly, and that the incoming season will be as successful as the last one." Several new members were elected, and the meeting then proceeded witi the electioa of the following officers:—| Patron, Mr. G. Tisch; president, Mr. F. | Simpson; vice-presidents, Messrs 0. T. Murray, A. H. Glasgow, E. Whittle, W. H. Skinner, W. F. Gordon, N. K. MacDiarmid, Drs. Fookes and Wylie; hon. members: Messrs Terry, Sturtevaat, Matthews and J. Cook; hon. sec. and treasurer, Mr. W. J. T. Wiggs; assistant secretary, Mr. Napier; club captain, Mr. T. V. Mackay; management committee, Messrs Mackay, Simpson, Wiggs, Napier, Preshaw and Simmonds; selection committee, Messrs Mackay, Wood and Dinniss; delegates to the Association, Messrs Mackay and Mclsaac. It was resolved that two teams be again entered for the Saturday competition, and the chairman, in concluding the business of the expressed regret at having to withdraw from th? active ranks of the club, having decide 1 to play for the Carrington Road Club n fie Thursday competition. He, at the same time, wished the clnb every success during the coming season and for many more to come. Hearty votes of thanks to the chair and to the Press for their support closed Ihe meeting.
