In connection with the Catholic Congress, which opens to-morrow, the Pontilieal High Mass was celebrated in the cathedral in the afternoon and the Aus. tralasian Heirarachy entertained at luncheon in the Town Hall, the Hon. iluges, vice-president of the Legislative Council, presiding. Cardinal Moran and Archbishop Redwood occupied the scats of honor, ten Prelates (including Bislion Lenihan, of Auckland) and a large number of clergy being present.
