THE PIIPERS AND THE UNION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin. Last Night. A meeting of the Otago branch of the Pipers and Dancers Association of New .Zealand was held to consider tlie action the Association should lake respecting tlie disagreement with tlie Athletic Union as to the control of piping and dancing. After a j;ood deal of discussion, all present resolved not to take part in any competitions held by the societies registered with the Athletic Union, and decided to circularise other branches of the Association throughout the dominion. NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB FORMED. There was a good attendance last night at the meeting called to consider the formation of an amateur athletic club in New Ply mouth. Mr. A. 11. Johnstone presided, and on the motion of Mr. L. 11. Webster it was decided to form a club, to be railed "Tlie Taranaki Amateur Athletic Club," a committee being set up to frame rules and report to a further general meeting. Messrs. Webster Bros, donated a handsome cup to be competed for by club members. (A full report of the proceedings will appear in our next issue.)
