■ .Shannon Lass gave Mahuta several lengths start lower six furlongs, and easily beat the black horse home in slow time. Manilla is- very backward, having only been taken up ~ couple of weeks. Lady Medallist and Tawliaki, siiHv galloped strongly, and both are very' well. Waimana was? never lookin" better, and was galloped a mile and a half He was not out to break recorua, >.ut went well and .pulled up very fresh. The alleged injury to bis breathing apparatus is not as serious as at first stated. The 1 onrua jumper has frightened several of tiiem out of the Gonville Hurdles Roosevelt and Coroneted broke away from the mile peg, the former leading for half a mile, when the Hawera horse ran up to him. From that out Coronetcd had the best of things, althoiH, Roosevelt, under the whip, managed to get ms nose in front at the timsn. bonneted is very well and galloped pleasim*.
A number horses were worked, but registered nothing worthy of notice.
