The steamer Harlow, which arrived from Manila, reports having passed on July 27, 180 miles from Durban, a steamer aiirv, which afterwards exploded. Received September 21, 10.20 p.m. London, September 21. Lunus state then- Wits nothing particularly inilaninmble in the Waratah cargo, which chiefly consisted of frozen nil-cases and Hour.
Renter's Durban representative states that the Harlow arrived in Durban on July 28th, staying there till the 31st, and did not mention the incident then. Moreover, the steamer (juclph sighted the Waratah after the time mentioned by the Harlow.
A NEW ZEALAND PASSENGER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Lust Night. It is believed that Mr. George Arkcll, of Auckland, is one of the passengers by the Wnmlah. He left s'ome months ago for Durban, and letters received by his friends indicated his intention of going on to England by a steamer leav : ing '■ towards the end of duly," which was about the time the Waratah left Durban. His last letters were received a month ago, since which time there has been no further word from him.
