The wheat markets arc less depressed, partly owing to the unfavorable weather, .which is Maying supplies of home-grown wheat, and partly because of reduced crop estimates from America and Russia. Cargoes are firm but quiet. Australian alloat is offering at 41s Gd off coast 41s fid; spot, quiet at 43s 3d to 445.
Best butter is very firm. Danish 121s to 124e. Secondary sorts are easy owing to_ the plentiful supply of store], especially of Siberian. Unverified rumors are current that some of the season's contracts at New Zealand factories are about 107s c.i.f. There is no news of any Australian contracts. The opinion is freely expressed in the trade that early arrivals of choicest lew Australian will fetch high" prices, possibly 120s, but of course the market after October will be largely dependent on the quantity of Australian supplies.
Cheese is dull. New Zealand 57s to 58a. The Local Government Board has accepted the label submitted by New South Wales for pork, thus permitting the immediate importation of New South Wales pork to Great Britain.
