Air. i. 11. Grayling, the contractor for [the erection of the chees e factory is Hearing the end of his work. The building is now just about finished, inside and out. The concrete floors are finished, both in the vat and curing rooms, and tile creamery is just as far advanced.
Messrs. Turner and ueadle have nearly completed their contract of bridging the jWa-roa and Waiweranui rivers o n . the Carrington road. Now that these rivers are bridged and a fair track through to the Punilio and Oxford jfcads, it will be a great benefit to the public who want to go cither to Puniho or Okato from the Newel! road. They will mot need now to come down some miles to the Main South road.
Mr. John Leedom, the assistant at the local factory, left last week.
| Mr. J. J. Elwin has been in the district a great deal lately on business in connection with his farm, which I understand has finally been leased to a Mf. Parker for a term of twelve months.
