The ladies' golf championship was won by Mrs. Gatehouse (Victoria), Miss l'arbui'y (New South Waled) being second. ' N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIP 'MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Lust Night. The New Zealand golf championship meeting at Cornwall 'Park links advanoed another stage to-day, when the third | round and semi-finals of the amateur championship were played. Some very exciting matches took place, notah'y that between J. C. Burns and W. B. Colbeck, both of Auckland. The seiiiiImal match was not won until two extra rounds were played. The general impression is that Duncan will beat Burns in the final of the amateur championship to-morrow. J. A.-Clements (Wnngnnui) and F. fi. Hood (Auckland) will get in the final | of the professional championship tomorrow.

A driving competition to-day was won by ('. E. Ktisabs, who drove the ball 233 yards.

The approaching and putting competition was won by K. D. O'Rorke. who holed in in 2 from a distance of 110 yards. The prizes won during the mccl'ng will be presented by Lady Plunket tomorrow afternoon.

The tie in the second medal handicap between A. N. Barraud (Manawatu) and H. C. Tonka (Auckland) was played oil' this morning, resulting in a win for Barraud.

The following is the result of the third round of the match play for the amateur championship:—J, C. Bidwell beat A. J. Abbott, 1 up at the nineteenth hole; A. Duncan beat J. Forbes, 2 up and 1 to play; J. C. Burns beat J. Harold 3 up and 1 to play; W. B. Colbeck beat H. T. Gillies, S up and 2 to play. The semi-finals resulted: A. Duncan beat J. C. Bidwell, 3 H p and 2 to play i. C. Burns beat W. B. Collwek, one up at the twentieth hole. Duncan and Burns meet i n the final. VOGELTOWN CLUB. The members of the young dub are exhibiting a very live interest in the game and considerably improving in their play. On Thursday a mixed foursomes was played for a trophy presented by Mrs. G. Grey, nine couples competing. The best cards were: Miss Steeds and II Rennell 110 net; Mrs. and G. Grey 112; Miss F. Putt and F. C. Tribe'llo.
