BOWLING.
EITZROY CLUB. The annual meeting of the Fitzroy Bowling, Tennis and Croquet Club was held last evening. About twenty members attended. The president, Mr. A Lealand, presided.
ANNUAL REPORT.
The annual r cport complimented the club on the satisfactory year's working. The No. 2 account had been reduced" by £35. The grass tennis court laid down had given great satisfaction. Matches were played against New Plymouth, In. glewood, Stratford, Eltham and Waitara Clubs. - Tennis matches were playcd with Waitara, Inglcwood, Stratfo'd and New Plymouth. A croquet match was played against Waitara. Mention was made of the great amount of time and work that the secretary (\lr. Healy) had given during the 'season, while the work of the caretaker was referred to in felicitous terms. Competitions were won as follows:—Beginneis' match, R. Callander; champion match, R. Callander; handicap pairs, Callander and A. Lealand.
' The report was adopted, eulogistic reference being made to the excellent work of the president and secretary. The balance-sheet showed that the receipts for the year were |2(U Cs 10(1; expenditure, £203 4s 4d; leaving acasli balance of £1 2e 6d.—Adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. A. Lealand (re-elceted); vice-presidents, Messrs H. Dempscy, W. G. Malone, T. G. Sole; secretary, Mr. W. Healy; general committee: Bowling, Messrs Lindetrom, .1. Abbott, E. Dingle and Chivere: tennis, Messrs Broome and Baker; croquet, Mr. T. G. Sole; auditor, Mr. Jackson. The following gentlemen were elected members of the club:—Bowling: Messrs A. H. Cose, C. Dickenson, R. Crawsha'v, N. Johnston, J, W.- Thompson, John Taylor, T, H. Clapham, P. Pritchanl, and O. Johnston. Tennis: Messrs A. T Moore, N. West, D. Mulvey, C. B. McNatty, Williams, Marks, Ham, A. .Clarke.
It was decided that the subscriptions for tennis players for the year be £1 15s for men and £1 5s for ladies, with a rebate of 5s in each instance if subscriptions were paid within one month; the subscriptions for affiliating members for bowling and tennis (including commercial travellers) to be £l.
The matter of appointing "skips" for the season's play was left over until the opening day of play. Votes of thanks to the caretaker, chairman and secretary concluded the. meeting.
