NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Utst Xight. The weather held gooil for the fourth day's play of the Xew Zealand goll j championship. There was nothing par- ! ticularly exciting in tlic matches decided. The programme consisted of the second round of match play for the NewZealand amateur championship, the semifinal of the professional match, and foursomes bogey handicap. The winners of the amateur championship round were fairly well defined before the players! went out, and .as no great surprises were recorded the games diil not attract much attention. The most interesting ■match was that between J. C. Bidwill and Col. Tuson. The fortunes of play alternated in this match. Col. Tuson was 1 up going out, but at the fourteenth hole Bklwill was 2 up. Col. Tuson won the next two, and the game was all square at the -sixteenth hole. Bidwill won the next two, thus winning the match by 2 up. Another close game was that between Colbeek and Xottlcton. The latter was 2 up with four holes to go, but lost them in succession and was thus beaten by 2 up. A Duncan was putting up a fine round when he beat Sams this morning. He went out in 39, five .strokes better than the bogey score, and did six boles of the home journey in 24, seven better than the bogey. On several occasions tilts week he has done the last three in 13, so that there was a probability that he could have put up a To" round. Harold defeated Holmes at the eighteenth hole "by a putt. The professional matches excited verv little interest, F. G. Hood beating D. Hood by 3 up and 1 to play, and j. Clements beating G. by 5 up and 4to play. Clements and I<\ (I. Hood will meet in the final of the professional match on Saturday morning. The foursonies bogey handicap ■ was I won, bv Denuv and Forbes, of Dnneilln, ; f><
