The Haytian Government is favoring a scheme of a German Minister r.u create a German bank, superseding the French Banquc Nationale d HalU, which hitherto has been predominant. New York bankers own a third of the shares of the French bank. American interests are suspicious of the German scheme.
Haytl is a republic lying between Cuba and Puerto Rica, and managed, or [mis-managed, by negroe«. It has a population of between 1,500,000 and 2,500,000.
