PUBLISHING! BETTING NEWS—AN APPEAL. By Telegraph.—Press Christclnirch, Last Night. At the Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Sim heard the appeal of Mathew Harnett against a decision of Mr. Hascldcn, S.M.; who fined appellant for publishing in the weekly newspaper Daylight betting information. The grounds of appeal were (1) that the information came from- special correspondents, and not from third parties; (2) that the information published was not betting news. Judgment -was reserved.
