TURF TOPICS. (By "Motnroa.") llarton. Last Night. There was good weather, good going, and interesting racing at the Rangitikei races. The Porirua horses had a good innings, Lady Medallist, Waimaria, and Tawhaki winning. Sir Frisco had a very easy win in the big race, Wee Trinket running well and finishing very fast. Sir Prize was outclassed, 'flic Veteran ilocen>in had a popular victory in the Steeple, after Lovcll had the'lead fiir! tnei'e fir longs. Rim rall prominently in the Willoivbank steeple, but was outclassed in the last mile, finishing sixth. I M'ai.u.irin beat the red-hot favorite Erl King in the hurdles. Erl King led lor 'six furlongs, and then was ste-.uliel. Waimaria gained a break on the Held, and held it, winning handily from the fast finishing Erl King, j, Watt's Kililidiuie was a hot favorite in the Maiden Hack, and led to the distance. JcnkiiK bringing Tawhaki in a brilliant run. made a great finish. Tawhaki won on the post. St. Kildare was never sighted, the public liiade First Consul a warm order in the Rangitoto Hack Handicap. It was a straggling start, Consul, llighden, and Fiddler getting off bnillv. Consul finished fast, but just failed'to catch Milan. llighden finished a long way back. The weather promises line. ,
