GARROTTERS AT WORK.

WELLINGTON CITIZEN ATTACKED. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Wellington, Lait Night. Mr. Arthur Lynch, a solicitor in tho employ of Slesrs ■ Skerrett and Wylie, was picked up in an unconscious condition at about 10.30 o'clock last night at the foot of Hill street, near the g*t* of the old Parliament House ground*. Ho'was found to be suffering from «oire severe scaip wounds and was removed to the hospital. Some blood was ••» tlceil on the footpath and close by was found the blood-stained wreck of a watch believed to have belonged t>» Mr. Lynch. The hands had stopped at 10.20. Two of Mr. Lynch's teeth were broken and his spectacles were *l*J damaged. He regained consciousness this morning and was able to leave the hospital this afternoon. The poll* have been so far unable to find out anything further.
