RIFLE SHOOTING.

On Thursday next two teams fro'n the Taranaki Guards visit the south end of the district, the A team going to Kaponga to fire a match against the Kaponga Rifle Club, and the B team remaining in Eltham to engage in a match with the Eltham Rifles. The latter expect to make a good showing in this match, as a very keen interest is being taken in shooting amongst the. company, and the team is the best that the local corps has had. Seven shots each will be fired at 200, 500, and 000 yds, teams of eight men a-side. The ;following will represent the Rifles: Lieut. Whiting, Clo.-Sergt. Rogers, Privates Vincent, W. F. Narbcy, T. Narbey, O. Webby, hon. members L. Webby land E. Seed. Beserye, hon. membc-: Blennerhassett.
