AMUSEMENTS.
WEST'S PICTURES. , ft was an interesting, entertaining ami instructive programme which was put On by Jlr. Wayward in the Theatre luiyal on Saturday night, the merit of the exhibition easily entitling West's Pictures their proud position in the animated picture world. The dramatic pictures were splendid, and that entitled "A fihare of the poor" was most realistic and heart-touching. The bis-cuit-onftlcing industry was shown the audience in a manner as thorough as it could have been in the factory. The whole of the processes, from the unpacking of the eggs and the mixing of tiie ingredients to the removing from the oven and the packing of the finished article, were shown. Of the humorous pictures perhaps the best was "A pocket policeman," which was ludicrously l'unny and convulsed the audience. The whole of the pictures (the showing of which occupied two and a-lialf hours) aveic capital and entirely new. "West's Pictures" is to become a fixed weekiy entertainment in Xew Plymouth, and with Mr. Haywani's assurance of something new every time, this should liecome a popular resort on Friday and Saturday evenings.
