In the semi-finals of the interstate golf match, Victoria beat Soiith Australia and Tasmania 'beat New South Wales. In the final Victoria beat Tasmania by four matches. A feature of the contest was the game between Clyde Pearce and Scott, the former winning by one hole. AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Several of the southern players who are competing in the golf championships commencing next .Monday, have arrived and more are expected bv the express to morrow morning. More than the usual amount of interest attaches to the professional championship, which will probably be contested by Clements (of Wangamii), the promising young player who now holds the open championship. F. Hood (of Auckland), D. Hood (of Christohurch), Watt (of Dune, din), McCormick (of Gisborne) and Martin (of Wellington). MANAWATU TOURNAMENT. Palmerston K, Night, i The Manawatu Golf Club's tournament finished to-day in delightful weather. There was a large attendance of players. In the semi-finals of the Manawatu championship, O. H. Druec (Manawatu), beat C. C, Cox (Masterton); Kurupu Tareha (Napier) beat Burns (Auckland champion). Both were 3 up and '2. TareTia went round in 78. The final resulted in Tareha beating Druce, 4up and 3. Tareha cannot go o n to Auckland owing to private business, so will not participate in the New Zealand championship this year. Most of the others are going. Four-ball Handicap, fifteen holes—S. and "M. Simcox. 71—13—58; T»uisson and Adams 75—J6—59. Bogey Handicap, 18 holes—C. C. Holmes, 3, 6 up; W. 11. Levin 10, 5 up.
