HOME GOVERNMENT IN BAD ODOR. By Cable.—Press Associations-Copyright Sydney, September 7. A strong agitation exists at the capital of Noumea, New Caledonia, against the action of the Home Government i n stopping the public works already undertaken. A mass meeting of citizens decide*, after some fiery speeches, to request the Governor to use his influence with the Trench Government to quell the discontent which, if allowed to grow, migat reach serious proportions. ■ . The Governor has sent a cable and is awaiting a reply.
