A PRESSMAN'S CLAIM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Monday. Mr. W. R. TTaselden, S.M., gave judgment in tlie ease Money v. Rarnctt, in which plainti!! sued for .CG2 damages for 'breach of agreement for having been engaged as editor of the weekly paper Daylight' for six months at £4 per week, and dismissed after ten and a-half weeks, with one week's wages in lieu of notice, on the plea of incompetency. The Magistrate held that incompetency had not been proved, and gave judgment for £4O and costs.
SLY-GROG SELLING. Wellington, Monday. In the Police Court to-day, Charles Conningham, of the New Idea Supper Room, Tory street, was fined £lO on. eaeli of hvo charges of sly-prog selling on Sunday. Officers in plain clothes, who were served with liquor, said that 20 or 30 men were sitting at a table on which were a half-empty bottle and glasses.
