HOMING.

NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The New Plymouth Homing Pigeon Club held a race on Thursday from Aramoho. The weather conditions were most favorable. Ninety-five birds competed in the race. Fast time was l recorded, the winner flying the distance of 79 miles in 87 minutes. Result:— V. H. Beal's "Cainpfire," time lhr. 27 inin., velocity 1090 yds. Oft. lin., Ist; | J. Sparkes' "Redwing," time lhr. 27min., velocity 1088 yds. Oft. lOin., 2nd; J. Stagpoole's "Bishop," time lhr. 27%min., velocity 1601 yds. 2ft. Uin., 3rd. Later word from Aramoho stated that the birds were liberated eight minutes late, which makes the time of the first 'bird 79 minutes—a record for the club and a very fine performance. The next race will be from Palmerston.

EAST END CLUB. The East End Flying Club held a race from Marton (104 miles) on Thursday, with the following result:—W. H. Boston's "Zara Buk," lhr. 54min. 30sec, Ist; H. J. Moverley's "Signal," lhr. 54min. 40sec., 2nd; C. R. Wright's "Jupiter/' lhr. 54min. 50sec., 3rd; A. Lovegrove's "Scrag," lhr; SOmin. 30sec, 4th. With the favorable weather a very fast velocity was recorded. The times are believed to be records for New Plymouth birds. The club's next race will be from Wanganui. The birds' will be liberated by Mr. C. Amabell.
