AMERICAN GOVERNMENT TAKING IT UP. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright New York, September 2. The Government at Washington has decided to take up Webster's claim \ihalf a million against the New Zealand Government in respect of a large area of land acquired from the natives in the Coromandel Peninsula, Auckland, for a trifling consideration. Negotiations are proceeding between London, Washinglon and Wellington.
