HINTS. Dry Cleaning at Home. —To clean oreani cloth or, cream serge: Lay the garment on a table. Then take a clem, dry, white cloth and dip it in a saucer containing ground rice and apply vigorously .to the soiled garment. As the • becomes soiled, take «, clean piece, and continue to apply the ground rice to the soiled parts. When .the whole garment lias been thoroughly gune over, take it out of doors and 'brush and shake vigorously. If it is very soiled, a second application may 'be necessary . A cup of chopped celery if added to almost .any stuffing for fowls will im-' prove it. | A loofah is far superior to a flannel I cloth for scouring, and is easily rinsed I clean; also for taking the fluff off or properly cleaning a carpet the loofah is invaluable, as it does not. require wringing like a cloth and lasts much longer. Stoppers that get wedged.—When you put the stopper into the decanter or bottle, give it a little twist when it is in; this will preveat it from becoming wedged in too firmly. T» wash light-coloured muslin blouses so that they keep their colour, place the blouse in a basini of cold water in -which has "been dissolved a lump of salt about the size of a walnut. Allow it to soak for an hour or two, and then wash in warm, not hot, soapy lather. Rinse m cold water'. When ironing, remember the iron should I>e only moderately not as a very hot iron spoils the colours in muslin. Remedy for a Tea Stoin.-If tea is spilt on a tablecloth, a tain or saucer should immediately be placed underneath the stain, and boiling water in which a little borax has been dissolved poured through. This will entirely remove t'he stain; if the place is afterwards carefully ironed the cloth will be none the worse.
