THE AXXUAL SOCIAL. j Till? annual social of the Tukapa Foot- i I vhiij, lield in the Theatre Koyal j I ~ night, was an unqualified success. I Uue, night was bright, but cold, a per- > (ect niglit for dancing, and this ensured! the attendance of a very large number I of dancers and spectators. Among the guests were several mefubera of th.o I Taranaki and Auckland representative J teams. The club's committee, which j had charge of the preparation of the i floor amongst other tilings, uiu its work | v.ell. Mrs. George's orchestra .secured | the war.nest encomiums for tthe really I excellent music supplied, and the M.Cs,' Messrs. E. P. Webster, E. Humphries, | and E. Steele, .were most courteous and | attentive to their duties. The supper, arrangements were in charge of a cap-1 elile committee of ladies, and the ex-1 celience and abundance of the refresh--taients merited all praise. The men's Committee undertook the duties of waiting table, and ensured a comfort for j Iwtrons that is very often absent at ' -lctiens of this kind. The following \v, the ladies' committee: Mesdames f 'sch (president), E. P. Webster, I i- F. Moverlev, Clark, O'Driscoll and H i :i'. Misses Webster, Hanna, Bedford, rnd Cunn'ngham. The tables were pretli! -[1 oro'ed bv Mesdames-C. and E. P. We' "tcr. Mr. D. Webster was secretary II the social committee, and succeeded BdmiraT.lv in the. position. The 1809 social of the club will long be remembered as cne of the most successful yet held.
