By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is Her. 6. C. Bates' weather forecast:— A heavy westerly gale is probable north of Farewell Spit, Wanganui I tnd East Cape, and south-easterly j winds, stTonjr. to gale, elsewhere. The barometer will probably rise steadily ir. the north, and also for a short time in the South, but there is still considerable probability of a further fall in the southern districts before a decided rise takes place. The weather will probably be damp and cold with heavy rain in parts, and snow on the high levels.
