AMUSEMENTS.
THE CHAMPION SCULLER. TO-NIGHT. Mv. Dick Arnst, the champion sculler of the world, arrived in New Plymouth yesterday, and in conjunction with the company which he has organised for a tour of New Zealand will appear at the Theatre Royal to-night. The chief attraction, apart from the opportunity of making the acquaintance of so distinguished a person as the sculler himself, is tlie kineinatographic representation of the great race rowed on the Wanganui river on the 22nd June, when all previous world's records were beaten by 1 minute and 37 seconds. The film is one of the best ever thrown on a screen, and in Wangnnui the people were roused to a perfect furore of enthusiasm as familiar faces appeared before them. The programme to-night will also include a magnificent series of entertaining and educational pictures, besides which the champion will give an exhibition of his marvellous lung power and methods of training. There should be a packed house to greet the champion, Popular prices are announced, and the box plan is open at Collier's Piano Co. offices'.
