HEAVY DAMAGES OBTAINED. By Cable.—Press Association.— Copyrigit Received 31, 1.20 a.m. Brisbane, August 30. The Mutual Life Citizen's Ineuraice Company obtained a verdict of £IOOO and costs against Waldeu, an insurance agent in the employ of the AJI.P. Society, for defamation by making disparaging statements about plaintiff company's methods. Defendant denied that lie ever made the disparaging remark*. The verdict was for toe full amount claimed.
