Curti6S, an American, won the 10 kilometre aeroplane speed race in 7min 55sec, also the Gordon-Bennett 20-kib-metre speed prize, consisting of a cup valued at £IOOO with a trophy worth £SOO. His time was 15min 51see. M. Bleriot was second in 15 min 56 sec. Latham was third in 17min 33seo. BLERIOT'S MACHINE DESTROYED. Received 30, 10 p.m. Paris, August 30. I Curtiss won the 30-kilometre speed contest iu 20min 40sec.

COUNT ZEPPELIN'S DOINGS. Received 30, 10 p.m. Berlin, August 30. Count Zeppelin in his airship quitted Friederislmfen on Friday and experienced mishaps necessitating stoppages for repairs. He arrived in Berlin yesterday. The Kaiser warmly welcomed him and drove with Count Zeppelin to the Royal Castle.
