THE CHAMPION SCULLER 4ND HIS COMPANY. An event of more than ordinary interest to New Plymouth people is the approaching visit of Mr. "Dick" Amst, champion sculler of the world, together with the picture company which iie has organised for a tour of New Zealand, with a view of giving everyone an opportunity bf seeing the great race rowed on the Wanganui river on June 22nd last. The kinematograph film of the race was taken by Mr. McDonald, of the Tourist Department, a New Zealander, and it speaks volumes for his art that press and public alike liavs unanimously pronounced it one of the finest ever shown in New Zealand. Added interest is lent by the fact that the champion himself describes' tab race in detail. In addition the company has the rights for New Zealand of some of the finest pictures from the great Parisian and American studios, including a beautiful representation of the great Harvard-Cambridge Inter-University boat race, the last Grand National Steeplechase at Liverpool, winter in Switzerland, and various scenic, dramatic, and comic studies. Mr. "Jack" Amst, the champion long distance cyclist of the world, arrived yesterday to make the necessary arrangements for the season, which is limited to two nights, and will open on Tuesday next, 31st inst.
