Mr. Payling had been consistent in his duties, while at the last conference at Wellington he unflinchingly, as was characteristic his life, presided, although far from well el the time. Mr. Selig concluded by moving that a motion of sympathy for Ihe widow and son should be placed on ihe records of the Association, and that a copy should be forwarded to the belcaved. The motion was carried i:i silence, all standing.
