Berry was engaged for the greater part of the day renewing the cups in the pump, the washer* having worn through during the previous evening's run. The well is full of oil.

A« ft matter of fact, however, there is a <|Uiei confidence amongst shareholders that, judging from the oil one sees at the wells, is perfectly justifiable. The oil iextraordinarily rich, and when it U e\ posed to the'air in open tanks the .v quickly forms upon it a layer of .pure paraffin.""
