By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyrjgff Melbourne, August 23. A conference of Ministers for Agriculture adopted a series of resolutions for inter-.State« co-operation dealing with vegetation diseases. With regard to the Irish blight it was decided to take immediate uniform action with a viow to checking its spread. Careful investtgation will he made, and infested areas will be quarantined. Only new bags' or cases will lie used for sending potatoes from one State to another.

The conference decided that a Federal Bureau of Agriculture is at present v,nnecessary. CHANCE.FOR NEW ZEALAND. Received "24, 12.50 a.m. Sydney, August 23. Effort* are being made to induce theGovernment to allow the importation of New Zealand potatoes bearing the Agricultural Department's stamp "free from disease."
