WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.
At the monthly meetiug of the above Board there were present: Mr. S. Turnbull (chairman), Messrs. Connett, Hall, Smith, and Western. Surfaceman Paul reported that he had been engaged during the past month in clearing watertubles on Jlanutahi, Richmond, Wort-ley, and Te Arci roads; the portion of tSisson terrace by the dairy factory had been cleared of furze, and he had arranged 'with Jeffries and Co. to supply the metal for ,-cpairs to Worthy and .Richmond roads' at 3s Gd per yard, Surfaceman rainier reported he had cleared fern from sides of bridges, and had repaired portions of Upper Te Are) road; the metal for repairing Te Arei road would be put on as soon as possible.
Air. llerrick wrote complaining of damago caused by surface water being turned on his property, and it iv,as decided to inquire into the matter. Surfaceman Paul resigned his position, and the clerk was directed to take the necessary steps to procure a surfaceman, applications to bo in by next meeting. A lengthy discussion ensued with regard to the quantity of metal to be used lor repairing the tower Te Arei road. It was resolved that li}o yards be put down, the member interested cnnslihring it should have been 230 yards. Accounts amounting to £B2 were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
