Mutinous militiamen hoisted the Greek 'lag at a fort at the entrance to Candia harbor and threatened to shoot the Greek officers, who objected, but the latter were persuaded to return to their barracks. Subsequently, at the Cretan Governments instance, in order to prevent international occupation, the Governor lowered the flag unopposed.
