SETTLEMENT IN NEW HEBRIDES
ENERGETIC FRENCH POLICY. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Melbourne, August 19. The secretary of the foreign missions of the Presbyterian Chureh has been advised that large contingents of French settlers are arriving at the New Hebrides by each steamer. Special arrangements for their speedy settlement are toeing mude by the French Government, which has also voted considerable sum* towards fighting tho French settlers' cases before the approaching AngloFrench Land Court.
