NATIONALISTS v. PROTESTANTS. THE RIOT ACT READ. By Gable.—Press Association.—-Copyrigirt Received August 18, 10.50 p.m. London, August 18. A fierce fight occurred at Lurgan (County Armagh, Ireland). Nationalists attacked a Protestant band that was returning from farcwelling emigrants. The rival mobs, when not mutually stoning and smashing windows, jointly assailed the police. The lfiot Act was read. There were numerous baton charges. Twenty-two constables were injured, some liaving broken jaws and ankles. Thirty civilians were wounded.
