ADVANCE TAUKAXGA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Tauranga, Last Night. Tauranga was lighted by gas for the first time to-night, the 'opening Cercnioiiy by the Mayor (the Rev. Canon Jordan) taking place at three o'clock, amid great enthusiasm. The proprietors, Messrs. Keene and Rcid, of Wellington, presented the' Mayor with a silvermounted ebony walking-stick, and tonight entertained leading citizens at a dinner. The street lamps, which light and extinguish themselves, are considered the linest in the dominion.

XEW FEVER HOSPITAL. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington Hospital Trusts • adopted to-day for presentation to ti. conference of local bodies, to be held next Friday, the plans for a new fever hospital. The proposed building will provide accommodation for 41 paticrts as well as for the administrative staff and for the' treatment of different c'asses of fever on modern lines. The intimate of the cost is £10,910, if the building is erected in brick, or 10 per cent, less if in wood. The excavations will post am), and there will also )>o the cost of fencing and furnishing, etc.
