EXPENDITURE CONTINUES. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyrigat London, August 11. Lieutenant Sliackletou that his expedition cost £43,000, and that his expenditure continues. A stall' of nine is working out scientific results. Lieutenant Sliackletou is undesirous to bring personal pressure for a national grant.
GOVERNMENT GRANT UNDER CONSIDERATION. Received 12, 11.35 p.m. London, August 12. Mr. If. 11. Asquith (the Premier) stal eil that a Government grant towards Lieut. Shackleton's expense* was under consideration.
