Balfour (Leader of the Opposition) deliver addresses at sucoessive mass meetings, on the Budget,' during the latter half* of September. . LAND TAXATION™PROPOSALS. London, August 10. The House of Commons had a fifteen hours' sitting. Mr. Lloyd-Gcorge proposed that land on which owners spent £IOO an acre for development purposes should he exempted from the undeveloped land tax. Tin amendment was carried. HYDE PARK ' DEMONSTRATION. London, August 10. Mr. Asquith expressed pleasure at receiving a deputation headed by Mr, J. Rowlands, a member of the House of. Commons, who presented a resolution carried at tho Hyde Park meeting last month in favor of the Budget. Mr. RoXvlnmls emphasised the representative character of the gathering and its thorough unanimity.
