Hemp.—'The market remans firm, 011 account of the offerings being very small from New Zealand. New Zealand good fair grade on spot per ton is quoted at £25 nominal; New Zealand fair grade on spot £24 nominal; fair current Manila on spot £24 10s; July-September shipments, New Zealand good fair £24 10s, fair grade £23 10s, fair current Manila £24. The Manila output is 25,000 bales. Wool—The market has advanced.

Kauri gum.—Ordinary fair threequarter scraped 105s, fair half scraped litis, fair half three-quarter scraped DOs; pickings, common good 40s, hush fair good pale amber scraped 140s.

The catalogue comprised 1308 ox and tow hides, including 400- hides from the freezing works, 72 yearlings, 019 calfskins, 2701) sheepskins, 10 bales and 77 sacks wool, 20 casks and 33 tins tallow, and the usual assortment of horsehair, horns, tails, etc. Wool offered comprised mostly crutchbgs and a few odd lots of fleece" and dead. Prices for wool and sheepskins were lower all round to the extent of y a d per lb.
