Ferns, of Ji.vercargill, was received from the Southland Association The application was granted, as facts showed that Ferns had lost Ins status through ignounce of the rules. llie HoroVhenua Association wrote ( ' e CO t "" cil t0 cn,lorse «'e <li»qualification of a person who, after asking the association to arrange a match for him, had failed to put in an appearance on the night selected for the contest, and had refused to give any explanation of his conduct. It was decided to refer the matter to-the Wellington centre.
_ The Otago Association wrote protesting against the action of the selection committee in not including a middleweight in the team to represent New Zealand .in Australasian championships. It was decided tliat the matter was one that could only be dealt with by the selectors.
Tlie Southland Association forwarded a resolution of its committee expressing surprise at Ryan not being selected as Sew Zealand representative in the Australasian heavy-weight championship, and asking the selection committee's reason for passing Ryan over. It was decided that the Council had 110 power to ask the selection committee for reasons for selecting or refusing candidates for inclusion in the New Zealand team. The secretary of the N« T South Wales Sports Club wrote that September 25tl> and 27th had been definitely fixed as the dates for the Australasian championships.
