DAIRY COMPANY MEETINGS
WAREA. The thirteenth annual meeting of the Warea Dairy Company, Ltd., was lieii on Monday evening. There was a gon I attendance of shareholders. Sir. I. Burgess (chairman of the directors) occupied the chair. Tile report and bal-ance-sheet were read, 'file report slated that the quantity of milk received was li,200,07!)lb, wliich yielded 2,)!),3!)4.71h of butter-fat, the average test being S.BU. The butter inad e was 2(>5,51!)11>, the overrun 12.2 per cent, lbs of milk to lib of butter 23.0!). The result, of the season was not so remunerative as was expected, and factories which consigned tiiciv outputs did not realise their anticipations ioriucd at llie commencement of tlie season. After questions had been asked and answered, tlie report and balancesheet were adopted. Air. J. Burgess referred to the progress of the company during the past year, to the -National Dairy Association re sending a representative to England, and to a proposal of several dairy companies on tlie coast to form a company for the purpose of getting cheaper cartage. In tins connection he referred to what Air. Newton King had seen at Home in the why of motor waggons. Mr. Burgess proposed that the election of directors be postponed until Monday, August 23rd, subject to the passing' of the articles ot association. This was agreed to. Air. Mi-Kellar was re-elected auditor.
An extraordinary general meeting of the Warea Dairy "Company was subsequently held to consider alterations to the articles of association. These were adopted. It was decided that all the directors resign; thnt the company join the National Dairy Association; and that owing to the absence of railway facilities on tile coast, and the certainty tiiat it must lie many years before such facilities pre forthcoming, the dairy company support the formation of a company comprising the dairy factory companies, farmers, and storekeepers on the coast, to run an up-to-date motor service for goods, also passengers when desirable, ilr. (i. H. ,I (l nos was appointed delegate to attend a conference in the hitter connection, to be held shortly, anil to report at the factory meeting, on .Monday, August 23rd.
OAONTI COAII'AXV. The annual meeting of shareholders was held at Oaoiuii on Saturday. There wen. 35 present, Air. ,1, C. O'Rorko, chairman of directors, presiding. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The report stated that during the season ended June 30bh, 1009, 12,442,()1U10 of milk were received, and from this 527,300 lbs of commercial butter have been manufactured, giving the result of lib butter to 23.501bs milk; the average test was :i.7!l and the overrun U.S. Payiiient for bu'tter-fal throughout the year averaged 0.77, and there now remained a surplus of £513 5s lid to be, dealt with. This surplus, together with payments already made, represents n value of IO.IMd per lb on butter-tat for the whole year, as against IO.OOd for the preceding year. Acting on the expressed wish of the suppliers, the directors disposed of the season's output on consignment instead of selling, but it has resulted ill a decrease of fully one penny per lb in payments for buttcr-M. k was resolved to write off 10 per cent, for depreciation, 5 per cent, interest on subscribed capital, and carry the balance forward. Air. Sloncx wa.s re-elected unopposed for Knliui branch factory. Air. Wilson, for Arawhata and Messrs. O'Korke, Young, Malcoliii, Billing, and Cook were dotted.
