The committee of the Taranaki Agricultural Society met last night. Mr.°W. . Ambury, president, occupied the chair, and there were also present Messrs S. J. smith, W. Stanley, A McL. Thomson". Oeo. Colson, J. H. Street, H. Okey, M.P. f. Watson, A X. Mills, and H. Street. THANKS. _ Mr. J. A. Clark, secretary of the Star Football Club, wrote thanking the So(•lety for its donation towards the funds of the club. -MANURING EXPERIMENTS. Messrs. W. L. Laurie and Co. merchants, of Auckland, wrote in refereuce to- the proposed top-dressing experi ments to be carried out on the showgrounds, and expressed their pleasure in donating 6cwt. of high-grade basic slag lor the purpose. ° The secretary stated that the firm lad paid freight to the breakwater, and the only cost to the Sociey had been 3s Cd railage from Moturoa to town, and IS (id from the station.
