A tire started in the gallery and spread upwards to the dome. When the brigade arrived the gallery was well alight, but within twenty-five minutes it wa* extinguished. Damage by lire and water was done to the extent of £3OOO. I'lio theatre will be closed for a fortnight. The origin of the Bre is a mystery. When the nightwateliman went off duty this morning there was no trace of Are. Five hours later smoke was issuing from the building.
