Nine thousand armed revolutionaries have formed a committee for public safety. The Minister for the Interior stated in Madrid that the revolt at Barcelona was the most serious since the Paris Commune. The revolutionaries had taken the opportunity of the departure of troops to carry out their long-pre-pared plans. He claimed that the Government are now masters of the situation.
