Mr, Massey, Leader of the Opposition, speaking at the inaugural dunce of the •.somen's branch of the Political Reform League to-night, said he was glad to see the women taking an interest in politics on the right side. There would shortly be branches of the League in every part of the Dominion. Though the Liberals had increased tlie public debt by thirty millions, money was scarcer than ever and there was a dillieully in making both ends meet, Numbers were unemployed and the best people were leaving the Dominion. This was the result o! IS years' Liberal legislatibn. U was discreditable and unsatisfactory. He did Jiot say Liberals had ruined the country. New Zealand was too guod a country for that, but whether in ten* tioually or not they had done their best to do so. Parliament must put the country's iinanees in a sound position and land settlement must be encouraged.
