j OPENED BV MR. FOWEDS. I By Telegraph.—Press Association. I r . llawera, Wednesday. The. Technical School, cnstiii"- .t; 1700. of which £2OO was subscribed locally, was opened by the Hon. 0. Fowlds last evening. The Minister advocated an extension of the snljsidv system whereby people readiest to help themselves would receive most assistance.
-Mr. V. I'iinui, chairman of the Wa nganui Education Board, submitted lig laes showing the remarkable development of technical education in this district, and claimed that the Wanganui Board was doing more advanced and more successful work than any other Irani in the Dominion
The function was attended by several members of the Education .Board. The proceedings were most enthusiastic. Mr. I'owlds left for Wellington this mprnmg.
