DISTRICT NEWS.
WAITARA. The Waitara Municipal Brass Band's bazaar takes place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and there is' every prospect of it being .a great success. A ladies' committee has been'hard at work for some months past, and the public can rely on (,'etting some firstclass articles. Mrs. Young, of the Waitara Hotel, has kindly offered to provide the necessary refreshments for the bazaar. The ladies' committee arc "extremely thankful to Mrs. Young for her kind assistance. The Waitara Rilles' tenth annual ball takes place next month. A strong conmittee has been appointed to carry out the arrangements.
WAUKA. The card match between I'miiho and Okato~tonk place at Oktito on Saturday night, and ended In. a draw. The teams decided to play off, and this also resulted in a dra*. A third game was played, and when the games were counted I'uniho was in the lead to the ex-, tent of seven games to five,
